Upcoming Event: Literacy Night

Hello everyone! This post is LONG, but contains a lot of important information. Be sure to read the WHOLE THING please!Our partnership event with Walt Whitman Elementary is quickly approaching. We have partnered with this local school to help host and run their Olympic Literacy night. The event will take place on Thursday, March 26, 2020 from 5 – 7 PM. The staff at Whitman will also need volunteers before the event to help prepare and set-up for the event. Seniors, we know that Toast to the Tassel is the same night as this event. Message one of the members of the eBoard and we will discuss this further with you.

KDP will be providing items for the event, including books for one of their rooms. Our goal is to collect 400 books to donate for the event! The donation box is located in the ERL in front of the circulation desk. DONATIONS WILL BE COLLECTED THROUGH WEDNESDAY, MARCH 25. Donations of books can count toward your points. The specific amount of points is included in the February meeting slides, posted below this.As we mentioned at our February meeting, this event is MANDATORY! Everyone is required to participate in some way, shape or form. If you cannot volunteer at the event itself, please reach out to an eBoard member so we can work with you. We understand that life events do come up, but everyone in KDP is required to participate in this event.We will be assembling bags for the families at our March meeting on Thursday, March 12 at 6 PM. WE NEED AS MANY MEMBERS TO ATTEND AS POSSIBLE! WE HAVE 300 BAGS TO ASSEMBLE!
