January Meeting Notes

Hello members of Kappa Delta Pi!

I hope your winter semester is going well thus far and everyone is staying warm!

The new executive board of our chapter of Kappa Delta Pi was thrilled to host its first meeting of the semester! We saw many new faces at our meeting, and we are excited to have a fantastic semester.

Here are some notes from our meeting on January 22nd:

*We were excited to announce the launch of our new website! Remember to check back often for updates to the calendar! (Note: you can save events in our calendar to your google calendar and can receive notifications so that you don't forget or miss a meeting!

*Also new this semester: Join our new Remind chat for reminders of upcoming meetings and events!

*Membership dues (both international and local) will be due at our February event on February 19th! Please view the "Paying Dues" section of our website or contact us if you have questions on this process!

*We will be hosting a book drive to benefit Whitman Elementary School in Pontiac for the upcoming Literacy event in March. Please donate this wonderful cause!

*The upcoming Literacy Night in March is a MANDATORY event for all members. Mark your calendars!

*The chapter bylaws have changed! Please note the following changes:

Undergraduate Students: Must have no less than 18 credits before being initiated.

-Article II: 1.2

Cords: If members reach Kappa Level, they will receive discounted cords. Committee heads will receive free cords if they reach Kappa level. Executive board members will receive free cords and medals.

-Article II: Section 2: 2.3

Initiation Fee: $5 fee must be paid prior to initiation.

-Article III: Section 4: 4.1

*Three of our E-board members are graduating in April (congrats!). With that being said, we need to elect: Historian, Vice President, Secretary

If any of these positions interest you, contact us. We will be hosting elections in March.

March Event: Thursday, March 26th from 5-7 pm at Whitman Elementary (tentative)

April Event: Thursday, April 2nd from 6 - 8 pm

Resume Night for Educators

April Meeting, New Member Initiation, & Senior Celebration: Friday, April 17th at 7 pm
